Overview

Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD) is the main international gateway to Spain’s capital and one of the busiest airports in Europe. • Train: Cercanías commuter rail line C-1 connects T4 to Madrid’s main railway stations, including Atocha and Chamartín. The service operates from around 5:00 to midnight, with trains every 15–30 minutes.
• Bus: EMT Line 200 links the airport to Avenida de América interchange, and Line 101 serves nearby towns. There are also long-distance coaches to other Spanish cities.
• Taxi and Ride-Hailing: Taxis are available at all terminals. The flat fare to central Madrid is €30 (as of 2025). Ride-hailing services like Uber and Cabify also operate at designated pick-up points.
• Car: The airport is accessible via the M-40 and M-11 motorways. Car rental offices are located in the arrivals halls and in a separate centre near T4.
