Small but good airport very close to the beach area. One of the best airports for casual travel. Easy to park or drop/pickup.
Very small international airport. Border passport check was smooth. There should be better signage for the airport bus to toulon but it is on the right of the entrance. Be aware that google times for buses are sometimes wrong.
Small airport, easy to get in and out. Very convenient. And it's right by the beach so nice views at take off and landing
Attention to TRANSAVIA clients: the ground crew is not kind, not customer-focused: they could make you pay for a business suit on carry-on which is EASILY slid over carry-on bags, such as winter coats. This is from a frequent flyer who see how terrible customer airline services have become in France, especially with "budget airlines" which are no longer budgeting right
Toulon Hyères Airport (airport code TLN) is a compact international airport serving the Var department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region of southeastern France. It primarily handles seasonal leisure traffic, connecting the French Riviera coastline to several European destinations. The airport is used by holidaymakers heading to the beaches of Hyères, Toulon, and the nearby islands, as well as business travellers with connections to Paris and other major cities. As a relatively small airport, it offers a straightforward travel experience with short queues and quick walking distances, making it a convenient gateway for the Côte d'Azur's less crowded western stretches.
The airport is situated about 3 kilometres south of Hyères city centre and roughly 20 kilometres east of Toulon. It lies close to the Mediterranean coast, near the Giens Peninsula and the Îles d'Hyères (Porquerolles, Port-Cros, and Levant). The surrounding landscape is a mix of coastal plains, salt marshes, and pine forests.
By Car: The airport is accessible via the A570 motorway (exit Hyères) and then the D98 or D559 roads. Parking is available on-site with both short-term and long-term options. The terminal is small, so walking from the car park to departures takes only a few minutes.
By Public Transport: Local buses (Réseau Mistral) connect the airport to Hyères bus station and Toulon. The bus stop is directly outside the terminal. Timetables vary by season, and services are less frequent outside the summer period. Taxis and ride-sharing services are also available at the taxi rank just outside arrivals.

The area served by Toulon Hyères Airport is one of the most scenic parts of the French Riviera. Hyères itself is a historic town known for its palm trees, old town, and the Hyères Carqueiranne Bay. The nearby Giens Peninsula offers beautiful beaches and coastal walks, while the three Îles d'Hyères are a haven for nature lovers, with crystal-clear waters and protected national parkland.
Toulon, the largest city in the Var, is a major naval port with a vibrant maritime atmosphere. The city's harbour is lined with cafes and restaurants, and the hilltop Faron offers panoramic views. The region is famous for its mild Mediterranean climate, sailing, wine production (Côtes de Provence), and the annual Hyères International Festival of Fashion and Photography.
Visitors also use the airport to reach resorts like Saint-Tropez, Bandol, and the Calanques of Cassis. The proximity to the A50 and A8 motorways makes it easy to explore the Provence countryside, including the Gorges du Verdon and lavender fields in summer.
