a small airport but has it all also a smoked room and of course you buy tobacco booze beer candy food perfume yes you can buy everything in this airport and of course also coffee or tea at the restaurant. BUT REMEMBER TO BUY TOBACCO BEFORE YOU COME TO THE AIRPORT because TOBACCO costs more at the airport 100% expensive at the airport
Convenient small airport. Located almost in the city. But the staff is not brought up. Services are provided sluggishly and unfriendly. It resembles the gloomy atmosphere of the times of the USSR. Does not reach the organization of work to the level of international service provision.
Small and cozy airport. The main advantage is that the airport is located in the city. From here you can easily get to anywhere in the city. Inside there are ATMs, terminals, cafes. On the downside, there are queues and no metro station.
The review is about terminal A, haven't visited the others. The terminal looks recently renovated, very clean and has sockets in the waiting hall. Ukrainian-language service was good (partially due to the fact that the airport was almost empty at 9:30 AM).
Sikorsky International Airport (IATA: IEV, ICAO: UKKK), also widely known as Zhuliany Airport, is one of two main commercial airports serving Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. It is named after Igor Sikorsky, the pioneering Ukrainian-American aircraft designer who was born in Kyiv. The airport primarily handles domestic flights within Ukraine, as well as limited international routes, mostly to nearby European destinations. It serves as a convenient alternative to the much larger Boryspil International Airport (KBP), especially for travelers heading to or from the central and western parts of the city. Sikorsky Airport is particularly popular with business passengers and those flying with low-cost carriers that operate from its terminals. The airport has a single terminal building that handles both arrivals and departures, and its compact size makes for a relatively straightforward passenger experience.
Sikorsky Airport is situated approximately 7 kilometers southwest of Kyiv’s city center, making it the closest commercial airport to downtown. Its address is 6 Peremohy Prospekt, which is a major thoroughfare leading directly into the heart of the city. This proximity is a major advantage for travelers who wish to minimize transfer time. The airport lies within the Zhuliany neighborhood, which is a mixed residential and industrial area. Kyiv’s main railway station (Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi) is about 8 kilometers to the northeast, reachable in 15–20 minutes by car or taxi depending on traffic.
By Public Transport:
By Taxi or Ride-Hailing: Taxis are readily available outside the arrivals hall. Ride-hailing apps like Uber and Bolt operate in Kyiv. A trip to the city center typically costs around 100–150 UAH (approximately $3–5 US) and takes 15–20 minutes in normal traffic.
By Car: The airport is directly off Peremohy Prospekt, one of Kyiv’s main arterial roads. Parking is available at the terminal, including a designated wheelchair-accessible car park. The airport is well-signposted from the city center.
Note: Sikorsky Airport does not have a direct rail link from the city center, but the combination of bus and metro is efficient for budget-conscious travelers.
Sikorsky Airport provides essential services for passengers, though its size means fewer amenities compared to larger hubs. The following confirmed facilities are available:
Other typical facilities that may be present (though not confirmed in the data) include free Wi-Fi (often available in Ukrainian airports), ATMs, currency exchange, and a small duty-free shop for international travelers. However, passengers should not expect extensive dining options, lounges, or business centers. For a more comfortable layover, consider bringing snacks or entertainment.
Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, lies on the banks of the Dnieper River and is one of the oldest cities in Eastern Europe. It has been a major cultural, political, and economic center for centuries. The region is known for its historic architecture, including the UNESCO-listed Saint Sophia Cathedral and the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra (Monastery of the Caves). Travelers come to Kyiv for business, tourism, and to connect with family. The city is also a hub for the country’s IT industry and startup scene. The surrounding area of Kyiv Oblast features rolling hills, forests, and the Dnieper River’s broad floodplains, offering recreational opportunities like hiking and boating.
Sikorsky Airport itself is located in a relatively industrial part of the city, but it is close to several notable landmarks: the National Aviation University, the Igor Sikorsky Museum, and the Exhibition Centre (VDNH). The airport’s location makes it a practical choice for travelers with onward connections to western Ukraine (e.g., Lviv, Odesa) as the main railway station is easily accessible.
While Sikorsky International Airport is modest in size, its convenience to central Kyiv and manageable environment make it a favorable option for travelers seeking a quick and accessible entry point to Ukraine’s capital.
