Strong airline with modern and wide body aircraft fleet, great network and operating stations, massive size of employees, ground handling facility... BUT, unfortunately SV needs to improve in honoring on time service and not delaying shipments deliveries. Smaller freighter airlines are meeting expectations. SV can surely gain same great appreciations like Passenger service.

Located in the industrial heart of Dammam, this airport primarily handles air freight, including commercial goods, perishables, and mail. While not a passenger terminal for scheduled flights, it serves as a key logistics hub for businesses in the Eastern Province. Travellers visiting the airport are typically those involved in cargo operations, logistics professionals, or individuals picking up shipments. The airport is equipped to handle large cargo aircraft and offers streamlined processes for freight clearance.
Saudia Cargo Dammam Airport is situated within the boundaries of the King Fahd International Airport complex, approximately 20 kilometres northwest of central Dammam. The precise location is along the King Fahd Road corridor, a major artery connecting Dammam to the airport area. Access to the cargo terminal is via dedicated roads separate from the main passenger terminals. For drivers coming from Dammam, take the King Fahd Road northbound and follow signs for "Saudia Cargo" or "البضائع" (cargo). Parking is available on-site for visitors, with designated spaces for vehicles. Taxis and ride-hailing services such as Uber and Careem operate in the area, though it is advisable to arrange pickup or drop-off directly with the driver. The nearest major city is Dammam, with Al Khobar and Dhahran also within a 30-minute drive. For those flying into the passenger terminals, a short taxi ride across the airport grounds connects to the cargo facility.
The airport provides essential amenities to ensure accessibility and comfort for visitors. The confirmed facilities include:
These amenities are oriented towards a functional environment rather than passenger luxury. There are no retail outlets, cafes, or lounges; visitors should plan accordingly, bringing refreshments if needed. The terminal is small-scale, focused on efficient cargo processing.
Dammam is the capital of Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province, a region renowned for its pivotal role in the global oil industry. The city is a major industrial and commercial centre, home to the King Abdulaziz Port (one of the largest ports in the Middle East) and headquarters of Saudi Aramco. The area is characterised by its coastal location on the Arabian Gulf, with a hot desert climate. Visitors to the region often travel for business purposes, including oil and gas, petrochemicals, logistics, and construction. The Eastern Province also offers cultural attractions such as the Ithra (King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture) in Dhahran, the historic Al-Ahsa Oasis, and traditional souqs. For leisure travellers, the Half Moon Bay coastline provides beaches and water sports. However, most activity at Saudia Cargo Dammam is business-related.
The airport is not open 24 hours daily; it has specific operating hours to coincide with cargo flight schedules. Peak activity typically occurs around 8 PM and 10 PM, likely aligning with flight arrivals and departures. Visitors are advised to confirm current opening hours and the availability of staff before planning a visit, as these may vary seasonally or due to operational requirements. The main contact number is +966 13 333 9024. A dedicated website is not listed; however, general information may be available through the Saudia Cargo webpage or by phone. For customs or clearance inquiries, it may be necessary to contact the Saudi Customs Authority directly.
