TUIfly Nordic, designated with IATA code 6B and ICAO code BLX, is a Swedish charter airline that operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of the TUI Group, one of the world’s leading tourism companies. Founded in 2005 through the merger of two predecessor carriers—Britannia Airways AB (established in Sweden in 1999) and the Swedish charter operations that had previously flown under the brand of Fritidsresor—the airline was created to consolidate TUI’s Nordic aviation activities under a single, unified entity. Its ownership by TUI means that the airline is tightly integrated with the group’s tour operating and holiday packaging businesses, serving primarily as a carrier for leisure travellers booking package holidays from the Scandinavian countries. Over the years, TUIfly Nordic has adopted the parent company’s “TUIfly” branding and corporate identity, reflecting its role within the larger TUI airline network.

The airline’s fleet composition has evolved to support both short- and medium-haul European flights as well as long-haul services to more distant leisure destinations.
