Very nice airport. Just wish they had more options for food. Got walk through here and see that they have a limousine service downstairs. Gave them five stars for their professionalism. The companies name is ALD. I took another car service to the airport. They were very nice in the Ford SUV. But the company at the airport seems to provide more options. The prices looked very affordable, compared to other cities. They have all the major car rental places here. The airport also has a giant fish tank. And it looks like they are remodeling to extended. And I added a couple of more pictures so everybody could see how this airport looks and how nice it is. Finally getting on the plane, it's a full flight tonight. Can't wait to get to Dallas.
Sarasota Bradenton Airport was magnificent! It's a small airport, which makes traveling through it easy and stress-free. The atmosphere is calm, the staff are friendly, and everything is well-organized. It's a great place to start or end a trip -- smooth, clean, and convenient. I'd definitely choose to fly from there again
Absolutely amazing all around. I fly a lot ( not this past year)the 15 years prior almost up to 40 times a year and I haven't say this is one of my absolute favorite airports. It is small, safe, clean and everyone here is just so friendly. My favorite is Breeze Airlines, which flies out of Sarasota and I truly cannot stress enough how awesome they are. My highest respect goes to the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport management for keeping this Airport as beautiful as it is. It's so important to build trust with your clients and here that's the case. Mutual respect between the Airport Management and Staff and their clients. We, the passengers appreciate your efforts to keep us safe and for providing excellent customer experience when we commute in the air.
Sarasota-Bradenton Airport is a pleasure to travel through. It's easy to access, with short lines and a smooth check-in process. The smaller size keeps everything simple and efficient, while the calm atmosphere makes traveling much more relaxing. The airport is also very clean and beautifully maintained, which makes flying in and out of here especially enjoyable.
Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) serves as a convenient gateway to Florida’s Gulf Coast, handling both domestic and limited international flights. It primarily caters to leisure travelers heading to the area’s famous beaches, as well as seasonal residents and business visitors. The airport is known for its manageable size, ease of navigation, and a growing network of nonstop routes to major U.S. cities and select Canadian destinations. Unlike larger Florida airports such as Tampa or Orlando, SRQ offers a more relaxed travel experience with shorter lines and simpler connections.
SRQ is located about 3 miles north of downtown Sarasota and roughly 6 miles south of Bradenton, straddling the boundary between Sarasota and Manatee counties. The airport sits just off U.S. Route 41, providing straightforward access from both cities. For travelers coming from further afield, Interstate 75 is about 10 miles east, with clear signage directing drivers toward the airport. The region’s primary transportation artery, Tamiami Trail, runs along the coast and passes within a mile of the terminal.
Public transit options are limited but functional. Sarasota County Area Transit (SCAT) operates bus routes that connect the airport to downtown Sarasota and other parts of the county. Rideshare services like Uber and Lyft are widely available, with designated pickup and drop-off areas just outside the baggage claim. Taxicabs line up outside the terminal, and several car rental agencies operate on-site, including Alamo, Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz, and National. Parking is ample, with both short-term and long-term paid lots, and a convenient cell phone lot for those waiting to pick up arriving passengers.
Sarasota Bradenton International Airport offers a solid range of amenities to make travel comfortable. The terminal is fully wheelchair-accessible, with designated parking spaces, ramps, and accessible entrances. Restrooms include changing tables and wheelchair-accessible stalls. An assistive hearing loop is available for passengers with hearing aids, enhancing audio clarity at service counters and gate areas. Free Wi-Fi is provided throughout the terminal, allowing travelers to stay connected before boarding.
For luggage management, a baggage storage service is available, useful for passengers with layovers or early arrivals before hotel check-in. The airport has clean restrooms and basic seating areas. While SRQ is not a major hub, it offers essential services such as on-site dining and retail options. A food court before security includes familiar fast-food brands and local cafe concepts. After security, there are a few grab-and-go outlets and a bar. Shopping is limited to a newsstand and souvenir shop. The airport does not have a lounge, but its compact layout means passengers can quickly reach their gates.
Sarasota and Bradenton sit on Florida’s west coast, part of the Suncoast region known for its white-sand beaches, warm weather, and cultural attractions. Siesta Key Beach, consistently ranked among the top beaches in the United States, is a 20-minute drive from the airport. The area is also famous for the Ringling Museum of Art, the Sarasota Opera, and the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall. Bradenton offers the South Florida Museum and the Bishop Planetarium, as well as the picturesque Riverwalk along the Manatee River.
Tourism drives much of the local economy, with visitors flocking for beach vacations, golf, and outdoor activities. The region is also home to a thriving arts scene, with galleries, theaters, and annual festivals such as the Sarasota Film Festival and the Bradenton Area International Dragon Boat Festival. Additionally, the area attracts snowbirds—seasonal residents from colder climates—who spend the winter months in condos and retirement communities. The airport’s direct flights from major hubs like Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, and New York make it a popular alternative to Tampa International for those seeking a more convenient arrival.
Sarasota Bradenton International Airport is open daily, though hours for specific facilities may vary. Security checkpoint hours typically begin around 4:00 AM and extend until the last departure of the day. It is advisable to arrive at least two hours before a domestic flight and three hours for international departures. The airport’s official website (srq-airport.com) provides real-time flight information, parking rates, and details on current construction or delays. For inquiries, call +1 941-359-2770. Parking fees are reasonable, with rates posted online. The airport does not operate 24/7, so travelers should check flight times carefully for early morning or late-night departures.
