Because of its compact size and proximity to the city, ground transport is often quicker than from JFK or Newark, though traffic on the Grand Central Parkway and other connecting roads can be heavy during peak hours.

Public Transportation: There is no direct rail link to LaGuardia, but the MTA operates several bus routes connecting the airport to subway stations and the Long Island Rail Road. The Q70 SBS (Select Bus Service) provides a frequent, limited-stop connection to the Roosevelt Avenue subway station at 74th Street–Broadway (serving the E, F, M, R, and 7 lines). The Q47 bus connects to the A train at 88th Street, and the Q48 bus goes to the 7 train at Mets–Willets Point. Additionally, the M60 SBS links LaGuardia to Manhattan’s Upper West Side and to the subway at 125th Street (serving the 4, 5, 6, A, B, C, and D lines). A free shuttle bus connects the airport’s terminals with nearby parking lots and the rental car centre.
