Great airport terminal. Yes it's small but it has everything you could need and want. Friendly staff who speak multiple languages. Thank you Turkey.
Very small airport, no bags trolley, too long waiting lines of minimum 3 Times, but still I love Turkeye
Very small airport for the such city.

Adana Şakirpaşa Airport (ADA) serves as the primary air gateway to the city of Adana and the wider Çukurova region in southern Turkey. The official name includes "Giden Yolcu Peronu," which translates to "Departing Passenger Platform" – a designated stop or terminal area for passengers beginning their journey. This platform is part of the airport’s landside transport infrastructure, catering to travellers who arrive by public bus or shuttle before heading into the terminal. The airport itself handles both domestic and limited international flights, connecting Adana to major Turkish cities like Istanbul, Ankara, and İzmir, as well as seasonal routes to European destinations.
Şakirpaşa Airport is a mid-sized facility, originally built as a military airfield before being converted for civilian use. It operates as a hub for regional travel, supporting the economic and social life of the Çukurova plain. The airport is named after the nearby Şakirpaşa neighbourhood in Seyhan, one of the central districts of Adana.
The airport is situated approximately 3.5 kilometres west of Adana city centre, within the Seyhan district. Its address is officially listed as Adana Şakirpaşa Havaalani, Giden Yolcu Peronu, Seyhan/Adana. The proximity to downtown makes it one of the most conveniently located airports in Turkey, with travel times to the city centre typically around 10–15 minutes by car or taxi.
By Road: The airport is easily reachable via the E90 highway (O-51) and local roads. Taxis are readily available at the terminal exit; a fare to the city centre is moderate and metered. Dolmuş (shared minibuses) and municipal buses also serve the airport, stopping at the Giden Yolcu Peronu. This designated platform is specifically for departing passengers boarding public transport, ensuring efficient access to the terminal.
By Public Transport: The Adana Metropolitan Municipality operates several bus lines that connect the airport to key points in the city, including the central bus station (Otogar) and railway station. The Giden Yolcu Peronu is integrated into the bus network, with clearly marked stops. Travellers can use contactless payment cards or purchase tickets from kiosks.
Nearby Cities: The airport also serves nearby cities such as Mersin (about 70 km west), Tarsus (40 km west), and Osmaniye (80 km east). For those driving, the journey to Mersin takes around 45 minutes via the D400 highway.
While the Giden Yolcu Peronu itself is a functional transport stop rather than a full-service terminal, the main airport building offers standard amenities. These include a small duty-free shop, cafes, and waiting areas. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the terminal. For passengers using the departure platform, basic shelter and seating are provided, along with real-time flight information displays. The platform is adjacent to the terminal entrance, so all main facilities (check-in counters, security, lounges) are within a short walk.
Note: The platform is open only during flight operation hours; the airport is not open 24 hours, so late-night arrivals or departures may have limited access.
Adana is a major city in the Çukurova region, one of Turkey’s most fertile agricultural areas. The region is known for its production of cotton, citrus fruits, and wheat. The Seyhan River runs through the city, providing irrigation. Adana is famous for its cuisine, especially Adana kebab, a spicy minced meat dish. Cultural highlights include the Taşköprü (Stone Bridge), a Roman-era bridge still in use, and the Sabancı Central Mosque, one of the largest in Turkey. The city has a hot Mediterranean climate, with mild winters and hot, humid summers.
The airport serves not only tourists but also many business travellers, as Adana is an industrial and agricultural hub. The nearby city of Mersin is a major port, while Tarsus is the birthplace of the Apostle Paul. Travellers often use Adana as a base to explore the eastern Mediterranean coast and the Taurus Mountains.
Travellers should check with their airline or local transport authority for the most current information on platform operation and bus timetables.
