A factual guide to Adana Şakirpaşa Airport covering its regional role, basic amenities, operating hours, and contact details for a smooth travel experience.
This airport unfortunately falls short in several areas. The bathrooms are not well-maintained, which can be quite disappointing. Additionally, there is a lack of seating, making it difficult to find a comfortable place to rest or wait for your flight. Lastly, the duty-free shopping experience leaves much to be desired. Overall, improvements are needed to enhance the experience for passengers.
Small airport but good friendly service. The airport is almost full this time of the year but it's very friendly and easy to get to your gate and always you can find help with smiley faces.
So small simple airport , its serve three cities Adana - Tarsus and Mersin, you can take Airport shuttle bus ( Havas) opposite of the main exit to Tarsus and Mersin it take around 35 minutes to Tarsus and around one hour thirty minutes to Mersin it cost 28 Turkish lira( bus stop next to Mersin Forum) , there is no restaurant inside it except one cafe and two self service machine for water and coffee and some others biscuits.
I wanted to do tax free , the relationship with the employees is disgusting. He simply threw the things on the counter and left, locking the door. The police and airport workers didn't want to do anything at all. The employee at the information desk simply went to her room.
Adana Şakirpaşa Airport (ADA) serves as the primary air gateway to the city of Adana and the wider Çukurova region in southern Turkey. Situated in the Seyhan district, the airport handles both domestic and international flights, connecting the region to major Turkish cities and select international destinations. As a key transportation hub for an area known for its agriculture, industry, and historical significance, the airport sees a steady flow of business and leisure travellers alike. The terminal is compact and functional, designed to process passengers efficiently without the sprawling layout of larger hubs. While the airport has undergone expansions over the years, it retains a regional character that focuses on practicality.
As of the latest available information, Adana Şakirpaşa Airport does not list specific amenities such as lounges, retail shops, or restaurants on its official pages. However, like most Turkish airports of its size, passengers can expect the following basic facilities within the terminal:
Passengers requiring special assistance should contact their airline in advance, as the airport provides wheelchair access and support services.
Adana Şakirpaşa Airport is not open 24 hours a day. The terminal closes its doors to the public after the last flight arrives, typically around midnight, and reopens approximately two hours before the first scheduled departure, usually around 4:00–5:00 AM. Travellers should plan their arrival accordingly, as access to the terminal building is restricted outside operating hours. The airport operates daily without exception, but the limited hours mean that overnight stays inside the terminal are not permitted. Security and cleaning staff are present during non-operational hours, but passengers cannot wait inside.

The airport is located approximately 5 kilometres west of Adana city centre, making it easily accessible by taxi, private vehicle, or public transport. The Havaş shuttle bus service connects the airport to major points in the city, including the central bus station and key hotels. Taxis are available at a fixed rate from the taxi rank outside arrivals. For those driving, the airport offers both short-term and long-term parking lots with reasonable rates. The parking area is well signposted and monitored.
For flight information, real-time departures and arrivals are available on the official website or through airline apps. As the airport processes a moderate volume of traffic, check-in counters typically open two hours before departure for domestic flights and three hours for international flights. Passengers are advised to confirm exact timings with their airline.
Several hotels are located within a short drive from the airport, offering convenient accommodation for transit or early morning flights. These range from budget-friendly options to mid-range business hotels, particularly along the main road into the city. There are no hotels directly connected to the terminal, but free shuttle services are not commonly provided by nearby hotels, so arranging transport is recommended.
In summary, Adana Şakirpaşa Airport provides the essential services required for regional air travel. Its compact layout ensures that passengers can move from curb to gate with minimal stress. By understanding the limited operating hours and planning accordingly, travellers can make the most of this efficient hub.
