I love Orebro airport, and as an aviation lover and planespotter this is my favorite place too. I love spotting the aircraft here, and I've even uploaded some of my photos of the aircraft and airport here to Jetphotos! My only problem here is that there is no shuttle between the city and the airport, which makes it really hard to get there without a car. The nearest bus station (Sanna Gruva) is way too far, and I wish that the busses that stop there could just drive to the airport and back to the original route. There is a shuttle there, but it's only on specific days and times which I've never took. Other than that, I love this small airport, and all the people there are really nice.
Thanks for nice images over the landscape. And that you also highlighting the problem with the shuttle to the city. When the London traficc is upp running in march 2025 it will be back but only for fridays and sundays. Hope for some sucess in this question and that the region can priorities offer better connection all weekdays. Welcome back!
Be aware that if the Sunday night Ryanair flights arrives late, there is no public transportation into the city centre.
Hi Harry! Sorry if was some trouble finding the transfer to central Orebro. There is a bus that operates between Orebro Airport and Orebro city center that is adapted for Ryanair arrivals. You can find information about the bus here https://orebroairport.se/till-och-fran-flygplatsen/flygbuss regards Viktoria, Orebro Airport
Get off the plane in a beautiful country to then queue outside in the freezing cold for 1hour+ for passport control. They have made a metal shelter to try help but it just makes it worse as the condensation droplets drip down your back Upon reading responses to other reviews this is the "redeveloped" version, if that's the case then god I feel bad for the people who had it worse Horrible way to enter sweden, still yet to actually get in, will update if we get past the 2 hour mark...
Get off the plane to be greeted by the freezing cold... would've been fine if I didn't have to stand out in it for over an hour waiting for passport control. Why doesn't this airport have an indoor waiting room? And no, the metal caged container that has water droplets dripping on your head does not count. Not the best first impression. Do better.
Örebro Airport (ORB), officially known as Örebro–Läns Flygplats, serves as the primary aviation gateway for the Örebro region in central Sweden. It is a relatively small airport, primarily handling domestic scheduled flights, seasonal charter services, and a significant volume of cargo traffic. The airport plays a practical role for passengers traveling to and from the city of Örebro and the surrounding counties, offering a convenient alternative to the larger but more distant airports in Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Arlanda. Its modest size means a streamlined, hassle-free experience for travellers, with straightforward check-in and security processes.
The airport also functions as a key hub for air freight, supporting the region’s logistics and industrial sectors. Regular passenger flights include connections to major Swedish cities, and during the summer holiday season, charter flights to Mediterranean destinations are common. Business travellers and tourists alike use the airport for its proximity to Örebro’s city centre and the scenic landscapes of Närke.
Örebro Airport is situated approximately 13 kilometres (8 miles) southwest of Örebro city centre, near the town of Mosås. It is well-connected by road: the airport lies adjacent to the European route E20, which links Stockholm (about 200 km east) to Gothenburg (around 280 km west). For drivers, the journey from central Örebro takes roughly 15–20 minutes via the E20 and local roads.
Public transport options include regional buses operated by Länstrafiken Örebro. Bus line 710 connects the airport to Örebro’s central station (Resecentrum) and other key points in the city. The journey takes about 25–30 minutes, with schedules coordinated to flight arrivals and departures. Taxis and ride‑sharing services are readily available, and the airport’s compact layout means pick‑up and drop‑off areas are just steps from the terminal entrance.
For those coming from further afield, Aarhus Airport (in Denmark) and Stockholm Skavsta Airport (around 100 km east) are alternative gateways, but Örebro Airport offers the most direct access to the city. The airport’s car park includes spaces designated for wheelchair users and short-term parking is available for waiting passengers.
The confirmed amenities at Örebro Airport are focused on accessibility and basic traveller comfort. The terminal provides a fully wheelchair‑accessible car park, entrance, and toilet facilities, with a dedicated accessible toilet. Baggage storage is available for passengers who wish to explore the area without luggage. Standard toilets are located within the departure and arrival areas, and a changing table is provided in one of the restrooms for parents travelling with infants.
While the airport does not offer extensive retail or dining outlets, there is a small café and a shop for snacks, drinks, and travel essentials. Free Wi‑Fi is available throughout the terminal. The airport’s size means all facilities are within a few minutes’ walk, making navigation simple. For business travellers, there are no dedicated lounges, but the seating areas are adequate. Note that the airport is not open on all days – services are aligned with flight schedules, so it is best to confirm operating hours when planning your journey.
Örebro is the capital of the province of Närke in central Sweden. The city is known for its picturesque setting on the shores of Lake Hjälmaren, Sweden’s fourth‑largest lake, and its well‑preserved medieval heritage. The iconic Örebro Castle, a 13th‑century fortress on an island in the Svartån River, is a major tourist attraction. The city also boasts a lively cultural scene, with museums, parks, and a bustling market square.
The region is a hub for logistics and manufacturing, with companies such as Volvo, IKEA, and Coca‑Cola having significant operations nearby. Visitors often come for business, as well as for exploring the natural beauty of the surrounding forests and lakes. Outdoor activities like hiking, fishing, and boating are popular in the summer, while winter offers opportunities for ice skating and cross‑country skiing. The nearby Tiveden National Park is renowned for its ancient forest and dramatic rock formations.
Travelers passing through Örebro Airport may also use it as a base for exploring other parts of central Sweden, such as the mineral‑rich region of Bergslagen or the historic town of Nora with its wooden buildings. The airport’s location makes it a strategic entry point for both leisure and corporate travel.
For the most up‑to‑date information on flights, services, and accessibility, always refer to the official website. The airport staff are known for being helpful, and the small‑scale atmosphere makes it a stress‑free place to begin or end your journey in Sweden.
