A small airport used for travel to several countries within Europe. The city is quite beautiful. There are also a few Turkish kebab restaurants in the city. You can fly to Belgium and other European countries at very affordable prices.
Used this airport once and will avoid it in the future by all means due to unacceptable attitude of the security personnell (similar in WAW).
The security staff at Zielona Gora Airport are absolutely wonderful! They were so kind, friendly, and professional. The whole procedure was smooth, quick, and stress-free, which made the experience even better. Thank you for being so welcoming and efficient--you made my trip start on such a positive note!
Nothing special really. We arrived at the airport 2h before our flight as requested in the confirmation email, only to find out due to COVID regulations we can't enter the airport for the next 40mins..we had to wait outside. Airport staff grumpy and very controlling, seems like they haven't heard of customer service before. On the other hand, Coffee lady was super nice as were the entire cabin crew! The flight itself was very pleasant and professional.
Port Lotniczy Zielona Gora-Babimost, commonly known as Babimost Airport, is a small regional airport serving the Lubusz Voivodeship in western Poland. Located near the village of Nowe Kramsko, it primarily handles domestic flights and seasonal charter services. The airport is a key transport link for passengers traveling to and from Zielona Góra, the region's main city, as well as the nearby industrial and historical towns. With its compact size, Babimost offers a straightforward travel experience, focusing on efficiency and accessibility. The airport is used by both business travellers and tourists exploring the Lubusz region, known for its wine production, forests, and lakes.
The airport is situated about 33 kilometres east of Zielona Góra and roughly 10 kilometres north of the town of Babimost, from which it takes its name. It lies in the village of Nowe Kramsko, within the Lubusz Voivodeship. Access is primarily by road. The airport is connected via the national road DK32, which links Zielona Góra to the nearby city of Poznań. For drivers, the airport offers a wheelchair-accessible car park with short-term and long-term parking options. Public transport is limited; taxis and rideshare services are the most convenient way to reach the terminal. Some scheduled bus services operate from Zielona Góra's main bus station, but frequency is low, so passengers should plan accordingly. The journey by car from central Zielona Góra typically takes about 30 minutes.
Despite its size, Babimost Airport provides essential amenities for passengers. The terminal is fully accessible to those with reduced mobility: a wheelchair-accessible car park, entrance, and toilet are available. There is also a standard toilet and a changing table, making the airport family-friendly. Other facilities at the airport include a small waiting area, check-in desks, and a security screening zone. There is no large shopping or dining selection, but basic vending machines and a small café may operate during flight times. The airport's layout is simple, with clear signage in Polish and English. Peak hours are around midday (12:00 and 13:00), when flights are scheduled, so arriving early is recommended. Passengers should confirm which services are open on their day of travel, as the airport is not open daily.
The Lubusz region is often called the "Green Lungs of Poland" due to its dense forests, rolling hills, and numerous lakes. It is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, with activities such as hiking, cycling, and water sports. The area is also famous for its wine tradition—the Lubusz Wine Trail passes through Zielona Góra, which hosts an annual Wine Festival each September. The city itself boasts a charming old town with a historic square, a 14th-century town hall, and the Palm House (Palmiarnia), a botanical garden with exotic plants. Other attractions include the Lubusz Museum and the nearby German-inspired Spichlerz (granary) architecture. The region's proximity to the German border makes it a crossroads of cultures, and the airport serves as a convenient entry point for both leisure and business travellers.
The airport is not open every day; it operates only on days with scheduled flights. It is advisable to check the airline's schedule or contact the airport directly for current opening hours. The peak times are around 12:00 and 13:00. The airport's telephone number is +48 68 351 23 00. There is no official website listed, but information can often be found through local tourism portals or the airport's social media channels. Parking is free or low-cost, and the terminal is wheelchair-accessible throughout. For passengers with specific needs, it is best to arrange assistance with the airline in advance. Given the airport's small scale, services are limited, so travellers should plan accordingly—especially regarding meals and shopping. The atmosphere is calm and relaxed, offering a stress-free start to any journey in western Poland.
