Lombok International Airport (LOP) serves as the main gateway to the island of Lombok in West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. It handles both domestic flights from major Indonesian cities and a growing number of international routes, primarily from neighbouring countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, and Australia. The airport is a modern facility that replaced the older Selaparang Airport near Mataram, offering a more spacious and efficient experience for the increasing number of tourists heading to Lombok’s beaches, Mount Rinjani, and the Gili Islands. Location & Access

Lombok International Airport is situated in Central Lombok Regency, approximately 30 kilometres south of Mataram, the island’s largest city. It lies about 15 kilometres east of the popular tourism area of Kuta Lombok, known for its surf breaks and white-sand beaches. The drive from the airport to Mataram typically takes 45 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic, while Kuta can be reached in about 20–30 minutes. Taxis and ride-hailing services are available from the arrivals area, with fixed-price options to major destinations. Pre-booked private transfers are also common, especially for groups heading to the northern Gili Islands or the Rinjani trekking trailheads. Rental car desks operate inside the terminal, though self-driving is less common due to local driving conditions. Bemo (minibus) services connect the airport to Mataram’s Mandalika terminal, but schedules can be irregular. Most travellers opt for taxis or private drivers for convenience.
