Having an airport in Kurnool is itself a big thing. It is an airport with less traffic. Security personnel are courteous and doing their duty well, which is welcoming. There should be a Tea stall/ Refreshment stall, at least outside the entry/exit area for the people who came to send off or pickup their relatives. Indigo ground staff is helping the senior citizens well while boarding the Flight. The check-in process is simple and quick. This is around 30 min away from Kurnool town and the journey is pleasant, except the toll plaza part. Let's hope in the future Kurnool will become a big city and will give opportunity for employment for youth.
So it's a very tiny airport . No security checks . They just personally give you your luggage and you can go . No airport cabs no auto no mode of transport if you have not arranged for any transport. In case anyone is coming here better to ask someone to pick you or arrange a cab beforehand via any cab service online .Also you will not get food . So I landed here and I got stuck here the airport personal gave a number for cab service which was not working . So I called my hotel to send me a cab from somewhere and I had to wait all the while the cab drove to the airport . Which was 30 km one way for which they asked for 1800 rs which was too much . But since that was the only way to go I opted for it .

The staff's behavior was exemplary--polite, humble, and professional. Their communication and willingness to assist were truly remarkable. We faced an issue with a pre-booked cab and needed an upgrade, which was unrelated to the airport's responsibility. Despite this, the staff went out of their way to help us, especially since we were traveling with three senior citizens. Their kindness and proactive approach deeply touched me and my family. I remember a few staff members from their badges--Nagarathnama, Bheemeshwari, Lakshmikanth, and the entire team. Hats off to their dedication and compassion! Again, during the transition from Bengaluru to Mangaluru, the support continued to be amazing, making the journey seamless. Since not under the control of Airport Authority of India, the airport lacks certain basic facilities like shelter for the visitors who wait to pick up passengers, snacks shop etc. Limited ATR flights by Indigo are operated to Chennai, Bengaluru and Vizag. Located in the very interior without any public transport or taxi services. Overall the airport needs development and connectivity from road for the public to use. Baggage belt is not available and the check in luggage are delivered in hand by the airline staff.
