Busiest on Mondays around 3 pm — usually as busy as it gets.
Traveled today and our flight was delayed. There were not enough seats so a lot of people had to stand before awaiting boarding. During boarding there was another flight departing at the same time so what ensured was total chaos. This airport is very poorly organized and does not have the facilities to deal with a single flight, if your flight is delayed and two flights depart at the same or similar times it's total chaos. Go to bergerac airport if you can, or Bordeaux, at least they have basic facilities and are able to board a flight.
Thank you for your comment, we take your feedback into account. Please be assured that we are doing everything we can to improve the boarding area so that you can enjoy a pleasant experience when departing from Limoges. We sincerely apologize and hope to see you again very soon at Limoges Airport
Small but clean. Restaurant (pre security) times are wrong. Google said it was closed on the weekend but it was open Saturday morning. Only vending machines after security. Made to wait in a tent on the tarmac in 31 degree weather after check in. Worried for children and elderly as temperatures got too high.
Hi Ellen, thank you for your feedback. Concerning the timetable of the opening hours of the restaurant, it is close on the weekend but the bar downstairs is open for snacking. We do understand that the temperature can get high during summer, and we do our best to improve your experience at the airport. Kind regards.
Small airport so no long walks to anywhere. Security staff can be picky and don't seem the happiest in their roles...Only two "gates" and on departure you are herded from a reasonable seating area through to a tent on the tarmac with only about 50 seats, even before your plane has landed which is a bit annoying as it is cold and you will probably then have to stand for at least 30mins. Facilities after security consist of vending machines only, although there is a nice cafe before security if you are waiting for arrivals. Car parking is very close and you can drop off for free! On arrival you will probably have to queue for 10 or 20 minutes to get through passport control.
Good morning Peter. We take your remarks in account and we are doing our best to improve your experience at the airport. We hope to see you again soon.
Most simple airport experience I've had. One in and one out! We didn't experience any delays though our journey arriving or departing. After you pass through Security there are vending machines with chocolate, crisps, and drinks on the other side. They take cash and card payments.
We are happy that you have enjoyed your experience at the airport !
Limoges Airport (Aéroport de Limoges) is a compact regional airport located in Bellegarde, roughly 10 kilometres northwest of Limoges city centre. It serves the Haute-Vienne department and the wider Limousin region in central-western France. The airport is primarily used by leisure travellers heading to the countryside of the Massif Central, as well as business passengers and UK second-home owners. Most flights are domestic (with connections to Paris-Orly and Lyon) or seasonal charters to British and Irish destinations such as Bristol, Manchester, and Dublin. With a single terminal and a modest footprint, Limoges Airport offers a straightforward travel experience where check-in, security, and boarding happen in quick succession.
The airport is situated off the RN141, a major route linking Limoges to the A20 autoroute, which connects north to Orléans and south to Toulouse. Driving from Limoges city centre takes about 20 minutes. The airport has an on-site car park with spaces for short and long stays, including designated wheelchair-accessible bays close to the terminal entrance.
For those arriving by public transport, bus line 20 (operated by TCL) runs from the Limoges Benedictins railway station to the airport several times a day, with a journey time of around 30 to 40 minutes. Taxis and ride-sharing services are widely available from the city, and car hire desks are located inside the terminal. The airport also serves as a gateway for travellers visiting the nearby towns of Brive-la-Gaillarde (about 80 km south) and Poitiers (roughly 120 km north-west).
Limoges Airport is a small facility, but it provides the essential amenities needed for a stress-free journey. All confirmed facilities prioritise accessibility:
The terminal also houses a small café (operating hours vary) and a limited retail area selling newspapers, snacks, and local products. Free Wi-Fi is not confirmed but is commonly available; passengers should check at information desks. There are no on-site hotels, but nearby accommodations such as ibis Styles Limoges Sud can be reached by shuttle or taxi.
The Limousin region is renowned for its hilly, forested landscape and rural character. It is historically famous for the production of Limoges porcelain, a fine hard-paste porcelain that has been crafted in the area since the 18th century. Visitors often come to tour the Adrien Dubouché National Museum or the workshops in and around the city. The region is also known for its enamelwork, medieval villages like Oradour-sur-Glane (a memorial village preserved since World War II), and the stunning Lac de Vassivière, a large reservoir popular for water sports and hiking.
Gastronomically, Limousin is celebrated for its beef (the Limousin cattle breed), lamb, chestnuts, and mushrooms. The cuisine features hearty stews and local cheeses. The airport sees seasonal flights during summer and winter holidays, catering to tourists exploring the verdant countryside or attending cultural events such as the Festival des Francophonies.
Limoges Airport may be small, but it offers a direct and accessible gateway to the heart of green France. Plan ahead for transport and check flight schedules carefully, especially outside peak season.
