Busiest on Mondays around 1 pm — usually as busy as it gets.
The service was terrible there. I came to the counter & the check-in counter staff's (in the pic) attitude was very impolite. He asked me to remove the previous baggae label by myself & didn't ask me which seat position I prefer to have, then issued my ticket seat #42D which is almost the last row. He also attached wrong baggae label to my friend's ticket. I love Quy Nhon city & would like to travel again, but definitely will consider as the airport sevice needs to be improved.
Small airport, clean and has great souvenir and coffee shops including Highland coffee. Security check was quick and no fuss. Airport is a 45 min drive to and from Quy Nhon. Grab us roughly 340K and that includes the price of 2 toll booths .
Nice and clean flight lounge. But the ticket lounge, bars and washroom at ground floor are not clean. Transport fee expensive and its complicate make all tourist feel scared.
one place you can't miss when visiting quy nhon city is the airport gate. there is an open space where tourists can stand and take selfies in front of the gate. additionally, the lights come on around 6 pm, but i personally think it's better to take pictures before the lights are turned on, lol!
Phu Cat Airport (IATA: UIH) serves the province of Binh Dinh in central Vietnam, including the coastal city of Quy Nhon. It is a domestic airport handling flights from major Vietnamese cities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang. The airport plays a key role in connecting the region's economy and tourism, with routes operated by carriers like Vietnam Airlines, Bamboo Airways, and VietJet Air. Originally developed as a military airfield during the Vietnam War, it was later converted to civilian use and has since become a vital gateway for travelers exploring Quy Nhon's beaches, historical sites, and the broader Binh Dinh area.
The airport's single terminal handles both arrivals and departures, designed to accommodate the growing number of passengers visiting central Vietnam. While relatively compact, it provides the essential services needed for a smooth travel experience. The airport is situated about 30 kilometers northwest of Quy Nhon city center, accessible via National Route 1A.
Phu Cat Airport offers a range of on-site services for passenger convenience. Baggage storage is available for those needing to store luggage temporarily, which can be useful for layovers or early arrivals. The facility is equipped with wheelchair-accessible features: a designated wheelchair-accessible car park, a barrier-free entrance, and an accessible toilet, ensuring ease of movement for passengers with reduced mobility. A changing table is provided in the restroom, making the airport family-friendly for those traveling with infants. Standard toilets are also available throughout the terminal.
Other typical amenities at the airport include a small food and beverage outlet, a gift shop, and seating areas. However, passengers should note that dining and shopping options are limited compared to larger international airports. Wi-Fi may be available, but travelers are advised to confirm connectivity upon arrival.
Phu Cat Airport is not open 24 hours a day; it operates according to a schedule aligned with flight timings. Peak passenger traffic occurs around 1pm and 2pm, likely corresponding to the busiest flight departures or arrivals. Travelers should plan to arrive at least 1 to 2 hours before their scheduled departure, especially during these peak periods, to allow sufficient time for check-in, security screening, and boarding.
The airport's accessibility features make it suitable for passengers with disabilities. The wheelchair-accessible car park is located close to the terminal entrance, and the entrance itself is step-free. The accessible toilet is spacious and equipped with grab bars. Passengers requiring special assistance should coordinate with their airline in advance to ensure a seamless experience.
For inquiries or assistance, passengers can contact the airport directly. The official website is https://vietnamairport.vn/phucatairport/, which provides up-to-date flight information, service details, and announcements. The phone number is +84 256 3822 953. It is recommended to check the website for any changes in operating hours, available amenities, or travel advisories before visiting.
The airport is connected to Quy Nhon city center by taxi, ride-hailing services, and private car. Travel time is approximately 40 to 50 minutes depending on traffic. Public bus services may also operate between the airport and the city, but schedules can be irregular. Renting a car at the airport is not common, so pre-booking a transfer is advisable. Parking is available for those driving to the airport, with both short-term and long-term options.
