Challenging airport to land at, steep uphill from the lake towards the mountain. Even with a decent tailwind you should probably always land uphill and take off downhill. Access to the lake is great, everything seems to be sharp, it was absolutely covered in grasshoppers when we went in early July.
Very nice strip. Great location. Gradient/uphill towards eastern end. Good grass/dirt surface, nice & wide. Tie down (cable) southern side, mid field. Most traffic lands/TO over lake (often tailwind) due to higher ground at East End, although unverified possible valley exit via southerly dog leg. Keep an eye out for military traffic - LOTS of it. Short Saplings at west end, taller trees at east end. Reflectors as runway edge markers. Watch out for cattle on runway..
