It was a summer vacation, but I have to disagree. I was circumcised when I was born and couldn't find it. Take my fingerprints you'll see how little the percentage is I've given it my all and so much more but everybody still walking out that door. It getting to the point where I can't take it anymore
It's such small cute clean airport
They have very weird rules at the security checkpoint of the airport. They won't let you have an AC adapter, or a small luggage scale, or a power strip in your carry on bag.
An airport serving a town with out of the coolest sounding names! This is a long overdue review that I got to share. Overall a small airport but I had a pleasant experience at the check-ins and security. It gets busy at peak times but I guess that's what you get in most regional airports.
Batman Airport (airport code: BAL) is a regional airport serving the city of Batman and the surrounding area in southeastern Turkey. It primarily handles domestic flights, connecting this part of the country with major hubs such as Ankara, Istanbul, and Izmir. The airport is a key transport link for both business travellers and tourists visiting the region’s historical and natural attractions. Given its relatively modest size, passengers can expect efficient processing times, though the airport operates on a limited schedule and is not open every day. Most flights are operated by Turkish airlines like Pegasus, AnadoluJet, and Turkish Airlines. The terminal is modern and clean, with facilities catering to passengers with reduced mobility.
Batman Airport is situated about 8 kilometres (5 miles) southeast of Batman city centre, near the village of. The airport is easily accessible by road. Travellers can reach it via taxis, private cars, or rental cars. The main approach road connects directly to the D955 highway, making the journey from the city centre approximately 15 minutes in light traffic. There is no direct public bus service to the airport, so taxis and private transfers are the most common options. Taxis are readily available outside the terminal, and fares to the city centre are reasonably priced. For those driving, the airport offers a car park with designated wheelchair-accessible spaces. The airport also serves the broader region, including the nearby provinces of Diyarbakır (about 90 km north-west) and Mardin (about 80 km south-west), though most travellers from those cities use their own airports.
Batman Airport provides essential amenities for a comfortable journey. Confirmed facilities include:
The terminal is compact, with a small duty-free shop and a café serving snacks and drinks. However, facilities like currency exchange and ATMs are not confirmed, so it is advisable to carry enough Turkish lira for taxis and small purchases. Free Wi-Fi is typically available throughout the terminal. Smoking is only permitted in designated areas outside the building.
Batman is a city in southeastern Anatolia, known primarily for its oil industry. The Batman Refinery, operated by TÜPRAŞ, is a major employer and a landmark visible from the city. The region’s geography is defined by the Tigris River, which flows east of the city, and the surrounding arid hills. Culturally, the area is rich in history. The ancient city of Hasankeyf, with its cave dwellings and medieval bridge, was a major tourist draw, though much of it was submerged after the completion of the Ilısu Dam in 2020. Today, visitors can still see the restored sites on the new Hasankeyf plateau. Other attractions include the Mor Gabriel Monastery (near Midyat) and the historic streets of Mardin, known for its stone architecture and mix of religions. The region is also famous for its cuisine, especially kebabs and the sweet pastry ‘künefe’. Travellers to Batman Airport are often on business trips related to the oil and construction sectors, or visiting family. The airport also sees seasonal traffic for cultural events and conferences.
For the most up-to-date flight and service information, contact the airport directly or visit their website. Despite its small size, Batman Airport offers a hassle-free experience for passengers flying in and out of southeastern Turkey.
