Busiest on Mondays around 6 pm — usually as busy as it gets.
Small, close to the center, the metro connects to it. I was happy to find a small playground at the entrance. Special line for families, the staff was friendly with the kids (Alisia, hello!). Unfortunately there was no soap in the toilet. Prices a bit high in shops and restaurants.
Hi Nico. This motivates us to keep working hard every day to provide the best service. We hope to see you again very soon!
Valencia Airport in Spain offers a smooth and efficient travel experience, making it a convenient gateway to the beautiful Mediterranean city of Valencia. Located just a short drive from the city center, the airport is well-connected by metro, bus, and taxi, ensuring easy access for both tourists and business travelers. The airport itself is compact but modern, which works in its favor--passenger movement is straightforward, and you don't feel overwhelmed like in larger international hubs. Inside, the facilities are well-maintained and clean. Check-in and security processes are generally quick, with staff who are helpful and approachable. The signage is clear and available in multiple languages, which makes navigation easy for international travelers. Once past security, the airport offers a variety of shops, duty-free options, and dining outlets. While the selection isn't as vast as larger airports, it covers essentials, from local snacks and coffee to international chains, allowing travelers to grab a meal or a last-minute gift before boarding. One of the highlights is the airport's manageable size--walking distances between gates are short, which makes connections and boarding stress-free. Free Wi-Fi is available and reliable, a nice plus for those needing to work or stream while waiting. The seating areas are comfortable, though during peak hours, they can get crowded. Overall, Valencia Airport strikes a great balance between efficiency and comfort. It may not boast the largest variety of services, but its accessibility, organization, and smooth operations make it a pleasant starting or ending point for any trip to Valencia.

Valencia Airport (VLC), also known as Manises Airport, is the primary international gateway to the Valencian Community on Spain’s eastern Mediterranean coast. It serves the city of Valencia and its surrounding provinces, handling a mix of leisure and business travellers. The airport is a key hub for low-cost carriers and charter airlines, connecting the region to destinations across Europe and North Africa. During peak travel seasons, passenger traffic increases significantly, with the busiest hours typically falling around 6 and 7 pm when many flights arrive and depart.
The airport operates daily, although some services may have reduced hours outside of peak periods. It is not a 24-hour airport, so overnight stays are limited. Valencia Airport plays an important role in supporting the region’s tourism economy, particularly for visitors drawn to the city’s cultural heritage, beaches, and the famous Fallas festival.
Valencia Airport is located in the municipality of Manises, approximately 8 kilometres (5 miles) west of Valencia city centre. Its position makes it easily accessible by road and public transport. The airport sits near the A-3 and A-7 motorways, connecting directly to Valencia and other major cities like Madrid and Barcelona.
By car: The airport has two paid multi-storey car parks and a paid parking lot, with short-term and long-term options. The journey to central Valencia takes about 15-20 minutes in normal traffic. Taxis and ride-sharing services are available at the arrivals level.
By public transport: The Valencia Metro line 3 and line 5 serve the airport, with a station located between the terminal and the car parks. Trains run frequently to key stops in the city, such as Xàtiva and Colón, with a journey time of around 20 minutes. There is also a regular bus service (Line 150) connecting the airport to Valencia’s bus station.
For travellers heading to other coastal towns like Gandía or Benidorm, regional buses and trains depart from Valencia city terminals. The airport is also a convenient access point for the nearby towns of Manises, Quart de Poblet, and Mislata.
Valencia Airport offers a range of facilities to ensure a comfortable journey for all passengers. The terminal is wheelchair-accessible, with designated parking spaces, entrance, seating, and toilets. There are also baby changing tables in the restrooms. These facilities are confirmed and maintained to a high standard.
Baggage storage is available for passengers who wish to explore the city without luggage. The airport provides free Wi-Fi throughout the terminal, allowing travellers to stay connected. Additional facilities include standard toilets and seating areas.
While the confirmed amenities list is focused on accessibility and basic services, travellers can expect typical airport offerings such as car rental desks, currency exchange, and information points. Shopping and dining options are present but may vary seasonally. Passengers are advised to check the airport’s website for the latest updates on shops, restaurants, and lounge access.
For those with reduced mobility, assistance is available by requesting it from your airline or the airport’s special services team in advance.
Valencia is the third-largest city in Spain and the capital of the Valencian Community. The region is renowned for its warm Mediterranean climate, long sandy beaches, and rich cultural traditions. Valencia is the birthplace of paella, and visitors can enjoy authentic rice dishes at local restaurants. The city also boasts futuristic architecture like the City of Arts and Sciences, a sprawling complex of museums, an aquarium, and an opera house.
Beyond the city, the region offers diverse landscapes: the Albufera Natural Park, a wetland area perfect for birdwatching and boat trips; the mountainous interior with charming villages; and the Costa del Azahar with its resort towns such as Benicàssim and Peñíscola. The airport serves as a gateway for both international and domestic tourists, as well as business travellers attending conferences and trade fairs at Feria Valencia.
Historically, Valencia has been a crossroads of civilizations, with Roman, Moorish, and Christian influences visible in its architecture and cuisine. The region produces world-famous oranges, ceramics, and textiles.
Valencia Airport is open daily, but it is not a 24-hour facility. Peak passenger times are around 6 pm and 7 pm. It is advisable to arrive at least two hours before a Schengen flight and three hours for non-Schengen destinations.
