Oki Airport is situated on the northeastern side of Dōgo Island, the largest of the Oki Islands, within the town of Okinoshima. The airport is approximately a 20-minute drive from the main port area of Okinoshima, where ferries arrive from the mainland. The island itself is part of the Oki Islands Global Geopark, a UNESCO-listed area known for its dramatic coastlines, volcanic rock formations, and pristine nature.

By Car: A rental car is the most convenient way to reach the airport, as public transport on the island is limited. The airport has a small car park, and car rental agencies are available near the port or at the airport itself. Driving from the ferry terminal takes about 15–20 minutes via Route 1.

By Bus: There are local bus services connecting the airport to Okinoshima town and the ferry port, though they are infrequent and timed to coincide with flights. Check the local bus timetable (available at the airport or online) for current schedules.

By Taxi: Taxis are available at the airport upon arrival and can be booked from town. The fare to the port area is modest, typically around 3,000–4,000 yen.

By Ferry: For those coming from the mainland, the alternative to flying is a ferry from ports like Shichirui (Tottori) or Sakaiminato (Shimane) to the Oki Islands. The ferry journey takes about 2.5–4 hours, depending on the route. Once on Dōgo Island, the airport is a short drive away.

The nearest major city on the mainland is Izumo, about 100 km east across the sea, but directly accessible by air. Osaka (Itami) is the main hub for direct flights, taking roughly an hour.
