TAKADA coffee shop. Amazing Taste! I was excited to meet this wonderful Coffee and Sandwiches. Can you believe we are in Misawa airforce base?(not in Yoyogi) Takada san uses a good ingredients, and it's obvious that the food is delicious, but other people can't do that.
This airport is small but functional good airport. There are small a souvenirs shop and a coffee shop. The staffs were friendly and helpful. Just located by the military airport. But you would be bored if you arrive here early before your flight. Enjoy your safe trips
This was such a cute and small airport. There is one baggage claim, one check in counter area and rental car all in one spot. This was a welcomed change of pace vs the gigantic airports we normally fly through.
The worst airport in Japan for services and facilities. No credit card lounge (only paid lounge), no airline lounge, no coffee shop. Only one restaurant (opens at very limited hours) and one shop. Observation deck needs a fee to get in for adults.
Misawa Airport (MSJ) is a domestic airport located in the city of Misawa, in Aomori Prefecture, Japan. It serves as a key transportation hub for the northern Tohoku region. The airport is unique in that it shares its runways and facilities with Misawa Air Base, a joint Japan Air Self-Defense Force and United States Air Force installation. This dual-use arrangement means that commercial flights operate alongside military aircraft, though civilian and military operations are separated for safety and security. The airport primarily handles scheduled passenger services to Tokyo's Haneda Airport and other domestic destinations, providing vital connectivity for residents and visitors to this part of Japan.
Misawa Airport is situated approximately 5 kilometers (3 miles) south of Misawa city center. The city itself is a mix of Japanese and American communities due to the nearby military base. The airport is the main gateway for travellers heading to the eastern part of Aomori Prefecture, including the popular tourist destinations of Lake Towada, Oirase Gorge, and the Hakkoda Mountains. The region is also known for its agriculture, particularly apples and garlic, as well as its coastal seafood. The airport's scheduled flights link the area to Japan's capital and other major cities, supporting both tourism and local business travel.
Misawa Airport offers a range of passenger services and facilities, confirmed to include the following:
Please note that while the above amenities are confirmed, the availability of additional services such as restaurants, lounges, or Wi-Fi may vary. It is advisable to check the airport's official website for the most current information.
The airport does not operate every day of the week. Based on available data, the airport's busiest times are around 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM, likely corresponding to morning flight departures. Specific operating days and hours for the terminal, check-in counters, and security screening are subject to the flight schedule. Because the airport is not open daily, passengers should verify that their intended travel date is served by consulting the official flight timetable or the airport's website.
For detailed inquiries about flight schedules, parking, and other services, it is best to contact the airport directly using the information above. The website likely provides information in both Japanese and English.
