Busiest on Mondays around 11 am — usually as busy as it gets.
The airport is decent enough, but the biggest problem is the staff(except some) . They used to act rudely and take unnecessary items from my bag, like a beard trimmer, because it was brand-new. Before 30 minutes, they called me and threatened to close the gates if I didn't arrive in five minutes. How is it possible that they could close check-in before 30 minutes? I have traveled all over the world, and I have never encountered such staff.
Rewa Airport, despite being a small airport, plays an important role in connecting Rewa to nearby cities like Bhopal, Khajuraho, Singrauli, etc. in the initial stagesat. The airport mainly operates a flight of 19-seater aircraft, which provides passengers a convenient means of traveling to cities in Madhya Pradesh. Basic essential facilities are available at this airport. Getting connected with flights is a big achievement for Rewa
Poor muddy roads leading towards airport. No proper place to rest before flight, getting a cab/auto is a nightmare. Ultimately the main thing , the Airline- Flybig, third class service, got cancelled two days in a row without any specific reason. No refreshment provided by airline. The worst part they don't refund the fare and ask to adjust the next day, if the flybig airlines would have provided refund the first day itself, then I could have easily reached Bhopal by train the next morning, but I was made to suffer. Don't rely on this airport and it's airlines for your emergencies. Avoid at all cost. Take Train, bus whatever but not any flight via this airport
I recently visited Rewa Airport my flight is rewa to bhopal fly big 1:30 hr journey. it's a promising addition to the Vindhya region! The new terminal, inaugurated in October 2024, is compact but modern, with clean facilities and a capacity for 50 passengers during peak hours. The staff were courteous, and security measures felt thorough. The airport's location in Chorhata, about 11 km from Rewa city center, makes it fairly accessible by taxi or public transport.
Rewa Airport, situated in the village of Babupur near the city of Rewa in Madhya Pradesh, is a domestic airport serving the northeastern part of the state. It primarily handles regional flights under the Government of India's UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) scheme, which aims to enhance air connectivity to smaller cities. The airport is used by travelers heading to Rewa for business, tourism, or to access nearby natural and cultural attractions. While it is not a major hub, it provides a convenient aerial link for passengers who would otherwise rely on long road or rail journeys from larger cities like Allahabad or Jabalpur.
Rewa Airport is located approximately 12 kilometers east of Rewa city center in the village of Babupur, Agdal. The airport sits in the Vindhya Range foothills, an area characterized by undulating terrain and dense forests. Travelers can reach the airport by road via National Highway 30 (NH 30) and local state highways. The most common access is by taxi or private vehicle from Rewa, where car rentals and app-based cabs are available. Public buses run from Rewa to Babupur, but services are infrequent and may not connect directly to the terminal. For those arriving from outside the region, the nearest major railhead is Rewa Railway Station (approximately 10 km away), which connects to major cities like Varanasi, Delhi, and Mumbai. The nearest major airport with broader connectivity is Allahabad Airport (Bamrauli), about 135 km northwest, or Jabalpur Airport (Dumna), about 200 km southwest. Travelers often combine a flight to Rewa with onward road trips to Bandhavgarh National Park (about 120 km south) or the Rewa Fort and waterfalls in the region.
Rewa Airport is a small facility designed for regional operations, but it includes essential amenities for passenger comfort. The terminal is fully wheelchair accessible, with a dedicated wheelchair-accessible car park and entrance. Inside, there is a wheelchair-accessible toilet, as well as standard toilets for all passengers. Notably, the airport provides a changing table in the restroom, making it convenient for families with infants. These facilities ensure that passengers with reduced mobility or those traveling with small children can navigate the airport with relative ease. Given the airport's size, food and retail options are limited; passengers are advised to carry snacks and beverages for their journey. The check-in and waiting area is compact, so travelers can expect a quick and straightforward process. The airport does not have a lounge or VIP area, but seating is available in the departure zone.
The Rewa region is steeped in history and natural beauty. It is known as the birthplace of the white tiger; the first white tiger, Mohan, was captured here in 1951. Today, visitors can see white tigers at the Govindgarh Palace and the Rewa White Tiger Safari. The area is also home to the Rewa Fort, a historic structure overlooking the city, and the famous waterfalls of Chachai, Keoti, and Bahuti, which are among India's highest waterfalls. The region lies in the Vindhya Range, with the Narmada River flowing to the south, offering scenic landscapes and opportunities for ecotourism. For wildlife enthusiasts, Rewa serves as a gateway to Bandhavgarh National Park, known for its high density of Bengal tigers and rich biodiversity. Agriculture is a mainstay of the local economy, with crops like wheat, rice, and pulses dominating. The airport thus plays a vital role in connecting this culturally and ecologically rich area to the rest of India, supporting both tourism and local commerce.
Rewa Airport operates on select days of the week rather than daily. Peak passenger traffic occurs around 11 am and 12 pm, aligning with scheduled flight departures. It is advisable for travelers to confirm flight schedules with their airline before heading to the airport, as operations may be limited. The airport does not have a public website or a listed phone number; for inquiries, passengers should contact their airline directly or check online travel portals for flight status. The airport is typically open only during flight times, so arriving more than an hour before departure is recommended. There is no on-site parking fee, and the wheelchair-accessible car park is free to use. Given the lack of extensive facilities, passengers should plan accordingly—bring necessary items and arrange transportation in advance.
