The nearest major city is San Francisco de Macoris, about 50 kilometers (30 miles) inland. Drivers from the capital, Santo Domingo, can reach the airport in approximately 2 hours via the Duarte Highway and then the DR-5. From Punta Cana, the journey takes around 2.5 to 3 hours via the El Coral Highway and DR-7.

By Car: Rental car desks are available inside the terminal, and major international companies operate at the airport. Roads are generally paved, though some rural stretches may be less maintained. Parking is on-site and ample for the airport's size.

By Taxi: Prepaid taxi services are available from the airport to any destination. Fares are fixed and posted at the taxi counter. Typical trips: to Samana city (USD 30–40), Las Terrenas (USD 40–50), Las Galeras (USD 50–60). Confirm the price before departing.
