It was built with good materials to withstand strong earthquakes and suffer minimal damage. 3. One of the main reasons they decided to restore it and leave it in such excellent condition was to serve as a support point in case of eventualities such as floods or earthquakes, where the Emergency Commission and various entities could travel to different locations. 4. It is very useful for transporting patients from the Anexion Hospital, Santa Cruz, Nandayure, and Hojancha to the hospitals in the central plateau. 5. The only thing that, in my opinion, should be promoted is local and tourist flights, promoting the canton as a tourist destination, and taking advantage of this airfield that is being wasted. 6. This airport cost C/900 million colones. It consists of paved road and demarcation of the landing strip, which is 900 meters long and 18 meters wide. It has a 17-meter apron for aircraft parking and a runway return section. The airport is owned and operated by the Costa Rican Civil Aviation Directorate. It's next to the police station, although it has nothing to do with the police. They wouldn't even let me get close, let alone take a picture. According to the police, it's strictly prohibited, which isn't entirely true. In short, arrogance.
It is simple and requires all the basic functions that a mini-airport demands such as restrooms, offices, access for people in wheelchairs or with disabilities in accordance with law 7600 and well! I will tell you that 46 years ago it saved my brother's life and it is still the same airport we must request a project and budget for this place that is a fundamental need for the national and international population!
