Busiest on Mondays around 11 am — usually busy.
Better than ever but still hot before you get to the passenger waiting area after security (built November 2023). Wonderful! Cool, nice bathrooms, even a snack bar attended 7 days a week, lots of seating.
My Sister and I received stellar customer service and hospitality, from Miss Wallace and staff at ELH in early August 2025. I am so pleased. Our flight was missed because of an update not received and they not only accommodated us in a timely manner, they were so kind. Stellar business like that goes a long way and I just want to give a huge thank you to Miss Wallace at North Eleuthera airport. Big big hugs
"Just departed North Eleuthera Airport (MYEH) with some happy guests heading back to Fort Lauderdale after an unforgettable trip to Harbour Island. The officers at MYEH are always super accommodating for our flights and a pleasure to work with (even when we make special request for them to open up early for our customers ) ... thank you!!! Couldn't resist flying them over the iconic Glass Window Bridge--always a breathtaking view. We've flown thousands of private charter flights to Eleuthera, and it never gets old. We were warned about being at the airport early and we were. 2 hours. I recommend 1.5 hours minimum. The staff at AA was nice but I confirmed that if you are not there 1 hour before they close it because customs needs all the paperwork. The day we were there a family showed up :45 before their SilverAir flight and they did not let them on. If there weather is nice it's ok but if it were hot it would not be. No AC. Small terminal (just a room) and little seating outside.
North Eleuthera Airport (ELH) is a small regional airport serving the northern part of Eleuthera island in the Bahamas. It is a key arrival point for travellers heading to the popular destinations of Harbour Island and Spanish Wells, as well as the upscale resorts and beaches along the northern coast. The airport handles mostly domestic flights from Nassau and other Bahamian islands, with a handful of charter and private aircraft. Despite its modest size, North Eleuthera Airport offers a no-fuss entry to one of the Bahamas’ most scenic regions.
The airport is located in Lower Bogue, a settlement on the northern interior of Eleuthera. It sits about a 15-minute drive from the town of Current and roughly 30 minutes from the Glass Window Bridge, which connects the northern and southern parts of the island. The nearest major settlement is Gregory Town, approximately 20 minutes south.
To reach Harbour Island, visitors take a short taxi ride to the North Eleuthera ferry dock (about 10 minutes from the airport) and then a 5-minute water taxi crossing. Spanish Wells is a similar journey via ferry from the nearby dock at Current Island. Car rental agencies operate at the airport, and taxis are readily available for transfers to resorts, rental villas, or ferry points. There are no public buses, so pre-arranged transport is recommended.
North Eleuthera Airport is a functional, straightforward facility. The terminal is small but well-maintained. Confirmed amenities include:
There is no confirmed restaurant or café on site, though vending machines may be present. Travellers should plan to eat before arriving or bring snacks. A small gift shop occasionally operates, but cannot be guaranteed. Wi-Fi is not publicly available inside the terminal. Baggage claim is a simple carousel area, and departure is a single room with basic seating.
Northern Eleuthera is known for its pink sand beaches, turquoise waters, and laid-back island atmosphere. The airport serves as the primary gateway for Harbour Island, famous for its three-mile pink sand beach and boutique resorts. Spanish Wells, a quaint fishing settlement with some of the best bonefishing in the world, is also easily accessed from ELH.
On Eleuthera itself, attractions include the Glass Window Bridge, where the deep blue Atlantic meets the shallow Caribbean Sea, and the nearby Queen’s Baths, natural tidal pools. The region is also home to several pineapple farms and the annual Pineapple Festival in Gregory Town. The area is popular for snorkeling, diving, and sailing.
North Eleuthera Airport plays a vital role in connecting these remote islands to the rest of the Bahamas. Flights are typically short—just 30 minutes from Nassau—allowing visitors to quickly trade the capital’s bustle for quiet beaches.
