Sun D'Or, officially known as Sun D'Or International Airlines, is an Israeli leisure charter airline that operates under the IATA code 7L and the ICAO code ERO. Founded in 1977, the airline was originally established as a separate entity to provide charter services to holiday destinations, primarily catering to the growing demand for affordable vacation travel from Israel. Over the decades, Sun D'Or evolved from an independent carrier into a wholly owned subsidiary of El Al Israel Airlines, the country’s flag carrier. This ownership structure, solidified in the early 2000s, allows Sun D’Or to leverage El Al’s extensive operational infrastructure, maintenance capabilities, and global network while maintaining its distinct identity as a leisure-focused operator. Despite being a subsidiary, Sun D’Or operates under its own Air Operator Certificate and brand, distinguishing itself from El Al’s scheduled services.
