Taxis are available from the city centre, and the journey typically takes around 15 to 20 minutes depending on traffic. There is no direct public bus service to the airport, so passengers are advised to arrange transport in advance. Hotels in Tabora often offer shuttle services for their guests. The airport is situated on the central plateau of Tanzania, at an elevation of roughly 1,200 metres, which gives the area a relatively mild climate compared to the coast.
