Absolutely love this beautiful new Airport that was freshly built from scratch in the middle of the fields and started its operations just in August 2019. Uniquely themed, devoted and named after the First Cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin. Spacious and airy, feels like there are no walls like in the sky or space. Full of interactive exhibitions, the Gagarin airport reminds passengers and visitors about historic events and objects of that "cosmic" Era. Absolutely amazing walk path to the boarding sleeve where you hear the recording of the voice and the conversation of the First Cosmonaut with the Flight Center before the take off onto the first space flight in the World. I've flown to and from the Gagarin airport few times and every time it mesmerize me how much effort and great ideas was invested into this project. After visiting many airports in US and Europe, I can definitely state that this is one of the best and unique airports in the world. Huge Thank You to everyone who participated in the creation, building and development of this miracle! Looking forward to more as beautiful and miningfull airports as Gagarin airport across Russia
A super stylish new airport! There's a lot there for a very small airport but it's really cool themed for Yuri Gagarin and space and everything is really well designed.
Airport new, clean and fresh but.. If you can't speak russian and speak English isn't friendly employers. I try to use translate but still employees don't understand me. Airport english labels missing and wrong translate. Need to fix that

Gagarin Airport is situated about 30 kilometres (19 miles) southeast of Saratov city centre, near the village of Saburovka in the Saratovsky District. It lies just off the R228 highway, which connects Saratov to Volgograd. By car, the journey to downtown Saratov typically takes 30 to 40 minutes via the well-maintained road. Taxis and ride-hailing services (like Yandex.Taxi) are available at the terminal, with fixed fares to the city centre. Public buses and marshrutkas (minibuses) also serve the airport, with route numbers that change seasonally; travellers should check current timetables on the airport's website or with local operators. For those driving, the airport offers both short-term and long-term parking, including spaces designated for passengers with disabilities. The airport is also within driving distance of Engels (about 20 km north) and other nearby towns.
The airport provides a range of passenger facilities, many of which are designed with accessibility in mind. The entire terminal is wheelchair accessible, including the car park, entrance, and toilets. There are dedicated accessible toilets and a baby changing station in both male and female restrooms. For travellers with luggage, baggage storage services are available for a fee, allowing you to explore the region without your bags. While the airport does not have a full-service hotel on site, basic seating areas and free Wi-Fi are provided in the departure lounge. Food and beverage options are currently limited to a couple of cafés and a duty-free shop, but passengers should note that peak hours tend to be around 8 pm and 9 pm, when queues may form.
