Salalah International Airport (SLL) is the main gateway to the Dhofar region in southern Oman. By car: The airport is easily reached by taxi, private car, or rental vehicle. Taxis are available outside the arrivals hall; fares into the city are generally fixed and negotiable in advance (typically around 5-10 OMR depending on destination). Several major car rental companies have desks in the arrivals area.

By bus: The local Mwasalat public bus network connects the airport to central Salalah and other parts of the city. Bus route 1 or similar services operate during daylight hours, though schedules may vary. For the most up-to-date timetables, visitors can check the Mwasalat website or app.

Nearby cities and towns: Apart from Salalah (5 km), the airport is within driving distance of Taqah (35 km east), Mirbat (60 km east), and the Yemen border crossing at Wadi Sayq (about 100 km west). The closest major international airports are Muscat International (about 1,000 km by road) and Duqm (about 500 km east).

Hours: The airport is not open 24 hours a day. Terminal doors typically open two to three hours before the first flight of the day and close after the last arrival. Peak hours are around 6 pm and 7 pm, when several international and domestic flights are scheduled. Passengers should confirm their flight times and plan to arrive at least two hours before departure for regional flights and three hours for international flights.
