Busiest on Mondays around 10 am — usually busy.
Very good, clean, easy parking & beautiful airport. **Warning** But must be very very careful with most of the car rentals in this airport. Most of them are trying their very best to scam or taking an advantage on you especially when they see you in a bit of difficulties or desperate to rent a car. They kinda work as a team eventhough from different companies. (all their counter just next to each others)
Airport of Tromso, Norway. Its an international airport, so theres many flights fly both in and out internationally. Its a very small airport and theres a lot of self serving automation such as self check in, baggage drop and so on. Theres not a lot of Cafe and restaurants before departure. The drive way into the airport is a bit confusing
Small airport, quick through security and a good number of food shops and coffee. Not too busy and works well for this region.
Lovely airport. Bike arrived safely and was able to build at the collection point. Nice cycle into town from airport. What a welcome... Stunning vistas as you decend. Snow capped mountains in 24hr summer. Stunning.
Tromsø Airport (IATA: TOS) is an international airport situated on the island of Tromsøya, just a short distance from the city of Tromsø in northern Norway. It serves as the principal aviation gateway to the Arctic region, handling a mix of domestic flights from cities such as Oslo, Bergen, and Trondheim, as well as seasonal international services from European hubs like London, Frankfurt, and Helsinki. The airport is owned and operated by Avinor, a state-owned company that manages most of Norway's airports. Due to its location above the Arctic Circle, Tromsø Airport experiences unique weather conditions, including polar nights in winter and midnight sun in summer, which can affect flight schedules. However, the airport is well-equipped to handle these conditions, with modern infrastructure and experienced staff.
The terminal at Tromsø Airport offers a variety of amenities designed to accommodate the needs of all passengers. For those with mobility challenges, the airport features a wheelchair-accessible car park, entrance, and toilets. There are also baby changing tables in the restrooms, making it family-friendly. Baggage storage is available for travelers who wish to store their luggage while exploring the city or waiting for a connecting flight. Free Wi-Fi is provided throughout the terminal, allowing passengers to browse the internet, check emails, or stay in touch with family and friends. The airport has a paid parking lot with both short-term and long-term options, located adjacent to the terminal for convenience. On-site services include a variety of shops and dining options. Passengers can find a selection of retail stores selling souvenirs, local handicrafts, and travel essentials, as well as duty-free shopping for international travelers. Several cafés and restaurants offer a range of meals and snacks, from quick bites to sit-down meals featuring Norwegian specialties. Additionally, the airport provides accessible restrooms and other facilities to ensure a comfortable experience for all.
The busiest times at Tromsø Airport are in the afternoon, particularly between 4 pm and 5 pm. During these hours, there is a higher concentration of flight departures and arrivals, leading to longer wait times at check-in counters and security checkpoints. Passengers are advised to plan their arrival at the airport accordingly, allowing extra time for these processes.
Tromsø Airport does not operate 24 hours a day. Instead, the terminal opens in alignment with the daily flight schedule, typically opening about two hours before the first departure and closing after the last arrival. Since flight schedules can vary by season and day of the week, it is essential for passengers to verify the opening hours on the day of their travel. During periods with reduced flight activity, such as late at night or early in the morning, the terminal may be closed. Travelers with early or late flights should check with their airline or the airport's website for exact times.
For general inquiries, flight information, or assistance, passengers can contact Tromsø Airport by phone at +47 67 03 00 00. The official Avinor website provides comprehensive information, including real-time flight updates, parking details, and a directory of services: https://avinor.no/en/airport/tromso-airport/
