The airline was originally founded in February 1970 as Air Nauru, a state-owned enterprise that quickly became a symbol of the small island nation’s early post-independence ambition. Following years of financial difficulties and restructuring, the carrier was rebranded as Our Airline in 2006, before adopting its current commercial identity, Nauru Airlines, in 2014.
